  • 2 or 2+ ( If only 1 Pax need to customize Trip)
  • Duration 15 Days

Introduction

Annapurna Circuit Trek is the phenomenon of Nepal that combines hundreds of natural, artistic, and cultural charms. And the Annapurna Circuit Trekking is one of the most popular treks in Nepal. Trekkers will be gifted with the naturally mesmerizing panorama of high mountains and peaks, natural hot springs and waterfalls, cultural villages, sunrise and sunset, rhododendron and orchid forest and planting, Apple farming areas, rare and unique wilderness, and many more. The spectacle and culture dramatically change on this route from subtropical forests, paddy fields, and the world’s deepest river gorge to ice flows, a high mountain pass, dry cliffs, and mountain panoramas. Passing through Manang, the trek starts with views of the Manaslu range, Tibetan-like Buddhist villages, and woodlands through the Marshyangdi Valley. The walk passes picturesque villages home to Gurung, Tamang, Sherpa, Magar, and Thakali communities.

On this trek, you can visit Muktinath, other holy temples, and monasteries. You can even explore the beautiful villages of Braga, Manang, Kagbeni, Jomsom. On this trek, you can also enjoy the lively evening of Pokhara. Annapurna Round Trekking starts from Beshi Sahar, 130 km West of Kathmandu, where we stay overnight. The trekking route crosses rice and millet fields and typical villages following the Marshyangdi River before entering Manang and approaching Thorong Pass (5416 m.). You will have acclimatization in Manang.

Acclimatization is needed to reduce possible risks like altitude sickness because the trekking route passes through pretty high altitudes. Smoothly trek leads to higher elevation and reaches Thorang- La Pass, one of the highest passes on the earth. Soon after crossing Thorong-La Pass, the walk descends to Muktinath in the lower Mustang region. Annapurna Circuit trekking grants one of the best scenes of the Annapurna range, such as Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Lamjung Kailash, and Annapurna South, along with Tilitso, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Ri, Nilgiri South, and other minor peaks.

This trek presents a trail with a good network of tea houses/lodges facilities that serve hygienic food and accommodation for the trekkers and climbers. Annapurna Circuit Trekking is possible at any time of the year. The best time for Annapurna Circuit trekking is during autumn and spring. The time between mid-September to mid-November is the best time to go to Annapurna Circuit Trekking. After autumn, spring is the second-best time as the weather and temperature conditions in the Annapurna region will remain perfectly stable.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

After landing at the Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative staff who will drop you off at the hotel. You will check-in at the hotel, freshen up and take a rest. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing

You will explore Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath stupa which are all world heritage sites. Durbar Square reveals the life of the royals in ancient times. Pashupatinath temple is one of the most significant places of pilgrimage for all Hindus. Swayambhunath is also known as the Monkey Temple and Bauddhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, you are introduced to our fellow participants and discuss our trip to our office. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Dharapani by Bus / Jeep.

After morning breakfast, you begin your journey to Western Nepal via a bus to Besisahar. Besisahar is the district’s headquarter of Lamjung. By bus, it takes about 6-7 hours to reach there. Microbus, Jeep or bus takes you faster. After lunch drive to Dharapani. Overnight at Dharapani.

Day 4: Darapani to Chame (2670 m.)

Today we walk through a few forested elevations on our way to Chame, which is the headquarters of the Manang District. Throughout the trek, we can cherish amazing glimpses of the Himalayas including Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525 m). We also come across small hot springs where we can dip in and relax our aching muscles. Overnight in Chame.

Day 5: Chame to Pisang (3200 m.)

A steep and narrow path through a very thick forest will bring us to the dramatic arched rock face, rising 1500 m from the river. This is the steepest bit of the Marshyangdi Valley, so steep that the trail is carved into the vertical rock. After passing this rock, the valley opens up with majestic panoramas. As the valley widens, we observe the Paungda Danda, a massive sloping rock face that towers over 1500 m above the trail. We trek through the trail for a while before arriving Lower Pisang where we spend the night.

Day 6: Pisang to Manang (3540 m.)

There are two routes to Manang but we follow the path that takes us to Upper Pisang via Geru. This trail assures excellent scenes of the beautiful panorama and the mighty mountains including Annapurna and Pisang. We begin to notice a difference in the landscape and vegetation. The cold and dry climate also forms a much more rigid environment. Our short visit to Barge monastery, the largest monastery in the whole district of Manang will be significant. Overnight at Manang.

Day 7: Rest day for acclimatization in Manang.

We can make a short hike to either Bhojo Gumba or Gangapurna Lake. We can even hike to Himalayan Rescue Association in Vraga village which will provide us some concept about Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), its symptoms, and preventions. Overnight in Manang.

Day 8: Manang to Chuli Leadar (4200 m.)

Today as we leave Manang, the trail advances a mounting of almost 2000 m to the Thorung La pass. We begin the ascent steadily through Tenki, leaving the Marshyangdi Valley. As we continue along the Jarsang Khola Valley, we reach Ledar at 4,250 m. There we observe the vegetation’s steadily more scattered. This is also a snow leopard area.

Day 9: Leadar to Thorung Phedi (4450 m.)

The trail drops to cross the river at 4,310 m we then climb up to Phedi at 4,420 m. At High Camp at an elevation of 4,600 m, we can discover some good, recently built Guesthouses. Overnight in Phedi.

Day 10: Thorong Phedi to Cross the Thorong La (5416 m) and Muktinath (3760 m.)

Crossing Thorong La pass, one of the highest passes in the world, will be our ultimate intention today. We will be crossing the pass from Manang to Muktinath which is the easiest and safest direction. When we finally make it to the top of Thorong La pass, we realize that our journey was worth it. We can take a few photos before traveling to Muktinath Valley at the foot of the Thorong La pass. Overnight in Muktinath.

Day 11: Muktinath to Jomsom (27430 m.)

Muktinath is a significant pilgrimage for both Hindus and Buddhists. In the morning, we visit a Bishnu Temple and a Gompa. Descending from Ranipauwa village down the sheer and desolate hillside, we descend toward Kagbeni and then to Jomsom. The trail today is pretty surreal as we trek along a hill above the Kali Gandaki River which is also the world’s deepest gorge. The barren landscape of this area resembles Tibet.  Overnight in Jomsom.

Day 12: Drive or Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara.

After breakfast ready to drive and fly from Jomsom to Pokhara. You will reach Pokhara. We can visit in Fewa Lakeside for a while and have dinner. Overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.

Awesome Trek

Rated 5.0 out of 5
February 17, 2020

I was doing Annapurna Circuit for the first time in my life and have been a bit reluctant because of the fact that at the time I wanted to start, it was offseason. It was because of this that I decided to make this tour with a guide and my choice was “Incredible Mountains Travels” because of a recommendation I received from a German couple. I was really pleased by the way the agency handled this and moreover, I had a great guide, who was knowledgeable and did everything to accommodate me and because of his open-mindedness, we had much fun with other travelers. I would definitely recommend Incredible Mountains Travels for doing Trekking in the Himalaya! You‘re in good hands
