India and Tibet are the countries to enter Nepal by land. If the person is in Tibet, they can enter in Nepal by crossing the border at Kodari and then take a bus to Kathmandu. This can take up to 7 to 10 hours depending on the state of the road. The easiest and convenient way to travel is from Gorakhpur, India which is from Sunauli/Belahiya border post using the train. The Birganj border post can be also used to visit Nepal. But this may leave people with some unpleasant traveling experience. From Darjeeling, we can travel from Kakarbhitta. There are also several borders crossing in the west of Nepal, but the above are the most used routes. For traveling within the country there are different services such as a good domestic air network and helicopter charter services as well as deluxe tourist buses. We can also hire private vehicles.
