We organized our overland tour of Tibet while we were in Kathmandu. We were so lucky to have chosen this tour company!

After a VERY bumpy drive from Nepal to the Tibet border, we were met at the border by our guide, Sangmo. From the minute we met her, we knew we would be in good hands. Throughout our tour of Tibet, she was kind, professional, friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure our group of 7 were well taken care of. She showed us the beautiful, breathtaking sites of this amazing country and really gave us an insight into the land and culture.

On a personal note, I became ill toward the end of our trip and she took me to an excellent clinic in Lhasa where we found an incredible doctor who gave me the care I needed. Sangmo communicated with the doctor for us and she sat at the clinic with me and my husband for hours on end making sure that I was okay. She even went out to buy me rice porridge because it was “good for my stomach”. The clinic was around the corner from our hotel, and even on the walk back to the hotel, Sangmo held onto my arm to make sure I was okay getting back to the hotel. Thanks to her and the amazing care I received, I made a quick and full recovery. I only wish we had a clinic like that at home!

Our driver should also be mentioned. His name was Chen (or Chan) and he was also incredible! We all felt very safe, he always had a smile on his face and jumped to help us every day. We were so lucky to have both of these outstanding ambassadors to look after us during our journey.

From start to finish, Tibet Shambhala Adventure, Sangmo and Chen deserve a PERFECT 10!!!!

Thank you all for an experience of a lifetime that we will never forget!
