Explore the wonderland of Mt. Everest which we call Khumbu region in Nepal and witness the grandeurs of the serene Gokyo Lakes of Nepal with us by joining our Gokyo Ri via EBC Trek. Traverse through some diverse trekking trails which are filled with awe-inspiring mind-blowing sceneries & destinations. To make the entire journey livelier, we shall cross numerous high suspension bridges, spend several nights at the tourist friendly local lodges (teahouses) and learn about the local culture & traditions of Sherpa people living here.
Our 19 days Gokyo Ri via Everest Base Camp Trek will mark its beginning from the bustling capital city of Nepal – Kathmandu. While staying there, trekkers will be able to visit several intriguing UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. After enjoying our sightseeing tour, we will then leave Kathmandu behind us and fly off to the eastern airstrip of Khumbu region – Lukla town. It is situated at a high altitude of 2,860 meters above sea level, so from here we begin our high altitude trek inside Khumbu region. From Lukla, we march up to Phakding and then further to Namche Bazaar which is regarded as the biggest Sherpa town inside Khumbu region of eastern Nepal.
Namche Bazaar is situated at 3,000 meters above sea level hence it makes as a perfect spot to stay for acclimatization. Continuing on, we will now follow a winding trail that goes down and up through to Gokyo Lakes. We will pass through Dole and Machhermo villages while en-route to Gokyo Lakes. Upon reaching Gokyo Lakes, we shall explore the beautiful surroundings of Gokyo Lakes and then hike up to Gokyo-Ri which is a nearby hill that serves as a vantage point for trekkers who wish to observe the entire Gokyo Lakes and the Himalayan mountains. In addition to that, as this trek takes you away from the main route of Everest Base Camp Trek (for a while), you will feel more isolation and avoid unneeded groups of foreign trekkers beside you. Therefore, if you want to travel at your pace without any commotion then you can visit Gokyo Lakes. Lastly, we will head to Kalaptthar (5,643m) and visit EBC (5,380m). From there we begin traveling back down to Lukla for a flight to Kathmandu.
We recommend autumn and springs seasons as the best time of the year to go for our Gokyo Ri via EBC Trek. Furthermore, you will have to physically and mentally healthy to join and complete this trek. Contact, Incredible Mountains today and be a part of our trekking team to Gokyo and Everest Base Camp.
