The varying altitude during the trek leads one from the lower hills to the high Himalaya. Everest Base Camp Trek is 175 km far away from Jiri via Namche Bazaar. This trek to Everest Base Camp tends to be longer than any other routes leading to Everest like the route starting from Lukla. In this trek, we shall start our trek from Jiri, a beautiful hill town in eastern Nepal and through the lush green landscape, villages such as Shivalaya, Bahandar, Sete, Junbesi, Nantahala, Bupsa, and Ghat with communities following Hindu and Buddhism as religion and gradually into the Dudh Koshi valley. After a roller-coaster trek across the terraced farmlands, green hills and lush forests of rhododendron, oak and other vegetation, over wooden and suspension bridges, trekking on steep and other diverse terrains, ancient gompas and monasteries we reach beneath the Lukla airfield. This trek will take you the neck of the world highest peak Mt. Everest (8,848m) up to the Base Camp (5,357m) from the sea level. We then traverse in the valley dominated by Sherpa’s to reach Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital of Khumbhu region. Further ahead of Namche, after acclimatization, we shall gradually enter into alpine vegetation and enjoy the visit to Tengboche, Dingboche and other settlements that host ancient and culturally rich monasteries to Pheriche, Kala patthar (5,545m) and Gorakshep for the spectacular view of Everest. And then we retrace our steps back to reach Lukla for our flight to Kathmandu where we end our trek.
