The beautiful Rolwaling Valley joins with Khumbu and Everest with the great bridge of Gauri Shankar massif and adventurous Tashi Laptsa pass. There is a Great Gompa Bigu Gompa. It is a nunnery. There are more than 300 nuns. Two festivals are celebrated in a year in this place like manirimdu in Tenngboche Gompa in Kumbu region. In Sherpa Language Biku means “Seed”. There is Sherpa village. You can get the view of Gaurishankar (7,145m), Melungtse (7,181m), and other mountains. Above Na Gaun, the trail meanders up to a high lake named Tso Rolpa (4540m) and up to the lateral moraines of the Rolwaling glacier below the Rolwaling icefall (5181m). After two days of rugged glacier walking one reaches high Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755m). On the other side of the Tashi Lapcha, the trail drops down into Thame village (3790m) on the Khumbu valley. Rolwaling Valley is explored by very few tourists. From here walking on the mains busy trekking trails to Everest base camp with interesting time around famous Namche and scenic Thyangboche Monastery as the walk leads to higher arid and dry country enclosed within world highest peaks at Everest base camp. At base camp with views of Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers beneath towering South Face of Mt. Everest, and then head downhill to Lukla town for short scenic flight back to Kathmandu.
